Business Case Study
The Business Advisor role within W Academy forms relationships both with salon owners and learners alike. As the main point of contact for queries and support within recruitment, training and business concerns, each salon is allocated their very own Business Advisor who will ensure all requiremtns and needs are met as promised by W Academy.
Business development, marketing, account management, Health & Safety and support all form part of the Business Advisor’s role so it is key for them to keep up to date with changes in the industry in a business sense as well as training and eligibility requirements as outlined by the Skills Funding Agency. With dedicated area’s to manage and develop, your Business Advisor’s most common place to be found is on the road, in the car and visiting salons and more often than not, very grateful of the occasional cuppa offered on our travels.
An example of our dedication to training and excelling the standards set by our competitors can be found at Hairunion in Dore. The business partners at Hairunion, John and Kath, saw an opportunity to upskill and grow their team following a visit from one of W Academy’s Business Advisors. Whilst the team at Hairunion had previously worked with other providers, the difference W Academy offered was prevalent with us having salons of our own and standards and expectations above and beyond industry standard.
Following an invitation to view our Academy and training facilities, Hairunion’s team were eager to move to W Academy and further develop their skills in an environment that inspires creativity and ambition for all things Hair. With our Engagement Team on board a visit to the salon was arranged not only to complete the learner sign ups but also a vacancy assessment with W Academy given the opportunity to support the salon’s latest recruitment drive in finding their latest team member and Junior Assistant.
Since forming our relationship with the team at Hairunion, we have successfully placed a Junior Assistant, met both John and Kath on several occasions at the academy to support the development and future of the salon and their team, carried out both salon and class training for the learners we have on board and are now working on filling a second vacancy for a Junior Assistant!
W Academy, whilst we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved and the training facilities and academy we have to offer, ensure that everything is about you guys, the salon and salon owners. Our flexible approach to training means we are able to build training packages specific to salon and individual needs and be a part of your career development by offering Levels 2 & 3 in both Hairdressing and Barbering as well as assessor training and standardisation for those of you wishing to support your teams progress hand in hand with ourselves.
